I'm not much of a t.v. watcher but I must confess to being fascinated by the show Project Runway. This bunch of designers get put into ridiculously hard situations and they manage to make actual clothes. Real live clothes! I can't even sew on a button so I think they are all GENIUSES. On the down side, they are often petulant, mean and exhibit the 'ends are worth the means' attitudes that make my skin crawl. Is that the only way to get ahead in the world? To admittedly try to step right over the other guy and bloody him in the process? If that's the reality of the fashion industry, I'm happy to wash my hands of it. What about you, friends? Any thoughts on the matter?

I'm afraid too often people have the "I have to knock you down to get ahead" mentality. Especially in professional school, which makes me sad. This definitely doesn't foster the "help one another" mentality.

I find the "whatever the cost" mentality that is seen on so many reality tv shows disturbing especially when a group of participants gangs up on another. That the shows continue to be broadcast and to have such large number of viewers seems to condone the behavior. Very sad.
